Korea to Adapt Israeli Spy Drama 'The Gordin Cell'

Korean broadcaster KBS will adapt hit Israeli spy drama The Gordin Cell aka MICE, marking the first time an Israeli drama will be adapted for South Korea.

Korean company IMTV will adapt and produce the series for KBS, with shooting set to start soon for broadcast in early 2015. The deal was negotiated with Israeli production and sales operation Keshet International. Financial terms weren't disclosed
The Korean version of the series will focus on a South Korean pilot who is torn between loyalty to his country and to his family, which has tight links with the regime in North Korea. The original version had an Israeli pilot caught between his country and that of his parents, two former Russian spies.

“Koreans love a story about family,” said IMTV president Seo-jung Lee. “This will be the first Israeli drama released in Korea, and we hope it will be a great hit.
