International Channels Hook Up with NBC Newbie Comedy 'Marry Me'

Sony Pictures Television has closed licensing deals with channels in some 74 territories for the newbie comedy.

These include Canal Sony, which picked up the show for all of Latin America, a pan-African deal with pay TV firm OSN and an agreement with RTL CBS Entertainment, which will carry the show in 15 territories in the Asia Pacific region. In China, video streaming platform iQiyi.com has nabbed Marry Me.
So far, however, the show has only sold to a handful of free-to-air broadcasters in major territories, among them Channel 4 in the U.K., Global's Shaw Media in Canada and Australia's Seven Network.
NBC recently ordered more episodes of the freshman sitcom after it premiered in October to solid ratings, bringing in a 2.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a total of 7.8 million overall viewers. While ratings have since dipped, Marry Me remains NBC's number one comedy this season and the number two new comedy overall among viewers aged 18-49.
