Emily Mortimer's 'Doll & Em' Renewed for Second Season at HBOThe premium cable network has renewed the comedy starring The Newsroom's Emily Mortimer and Bridget Jones's Diary's Dolly Wells, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. See more 40 Years of HBO The series, an original production from broadcaster British Sky Broadcasting, will premiere first on Sky Living in the U.K. before its run on HBO. Season two of Doll will again be comprise six episodes and this time explore the best friends writing an off-Broadway play together in a bid to do something on creative equal footing after its freshman run focused on the Hollywood actress who hires her childhood friend as an assistant. Their stab at becoming playwrights will see them enlist the likes of Evan Rachel Wood and Olivia Wilde into appearing in the production, with Wood playing Doll and Wilde playing Em. Chaos will ensue as Wood and Wilde lose faith in the project. Other guest stars will include Ewan McGregor and Mikhail Baryshnikov. Azazel Jacobs will return to direct season two, with Alessandro Nivola and Kevin Comer on board to produce under Nivola and Mortimer's King Bee label. BAFTA winner Andrew Eaton exec produces alongside Lucy Lumsden for Sky. Doll is part of an HBO comedy roster that includes Veep, Girls, Getting On, Silicon Valley, The Comeback and the upcoming Togetherness, Ballers and The Brink
