VH1 Star Stephanie Moseley and Husband Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide

VH1 Star Stephanie Moseley and Husband Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide
Stephanie Moseley, a star of VH1's NBA cheerleading drama Hit the Floor, and her husband, the rapper Earl Hayes, died Monday in a suspected murder-suicide, police confirmed to PEOPLE.

Los Angeles police responded early Monday to reports of shots being fired in Park La Brea, and found Moseley, 30, and Hayes, 34, in their apartment, both with gunshot wounds.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The initial investigation suggested Hayes shot Moseley to death and then took his own life, police said.

"We are incredibly saddened to hear the news of the passing of Stephanie Moseley," VH1 said in a statement. "VH1 and the entire Hit the Floor family send our thoughts and condolences to her family and friends at this difficult time."

Friends of the couple told L.A. TV station KTLA that they had been having problems.

"No situation's perfect," said Eva Marcille Pigford, a friend and fellow model. "Stephanie was an absolute angel. She really was … She's connected so many people. She's just loved. She will never, ever, ever, ever be forgotten."

Moseley was born in Vancouver and drew acclaim as a dancer from a young age, according to the biography on her website. In her early 20s, she joined Britney Spears's dance crew and toured with her in the U.S. She also danced on a Janet Jackson tour.

Among her TV roles, she appeared as Jamie Foxx's wife on his 2006 NBC special Jamie Foxx: Unpredictable.

TNT Renews ‘Rizzoli & Isles’ for Season 6

Rizzoli and Isles
TNT has renewed “Rizzoli & Isles” for a sixth season targeted to air next summer.
The Warner Horizon TV procedural has been a top 5 cable series throughout its run to date. But despite strong ratings the renewal was not a given at at time when TNT is looking to overhaul its programming profile to bring more edge to its original series.
TNT has ordered 18 episodes for season six. The show’s fifth season is set to bow early next year.
“Rizzoli” stars Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander as a Boston police detective and medical examiner who partner on cases. Jan Nash is exec producer and showrunner with Bill Haber for Ostar Prods. It’s based on the series of crime novels by Tess Gerritsen.

'Continuum' ending in 2015 with six-episode fourth season

Continuum-Large-Cast-Full;;
Syfy and Canada’s Showcase have both renewed the time-travel police drama for a six-episode fourth season, set to air in 2015.
In a statement on Monday, star Rachel Nichols wrote, “All great stories deserve an end. I am excited and grateful to finish Continuum with the riveting conclusion it deserves. This series finale is dedicated to the devoted fans who have loyally supported us since day one.”
The series, from executive producer Simon Barry, premiered on Showcase in 2012 and was picked up by Syfy in 2013. It follows Nichols’ Kiera Cameron as a police officer from a violent future who accidentally travels back to 2012 Vancouver.
Continuum‘s award-winning success on Showcase is a testament to the quality of our Canadian original productions,” Christine Shipton, Senior Vice President of Content at Shaw Media, wrote in a statement. “With Executive Producer Simon Barry at its helm, the fourth and final season of Continuum is bound to deliver a heroic conclusion to the futuristic series.”

Bradley Cooper 'Owns' The Elephant Man on Broadway, Critics Say

2014 was supposed to be the year of the Chrises, but nobody told Bradley Cooper.

PEOPLE's 2011 Sexiest Man Alive is making a serious play for dominance in 2014: His voiceover performance in Guardians of the Galaxy wrung a surprising amount of pathos from the role of a gun-toting space raccoon, his performance in American Sniper is already garnering Oscar buzz, and he's starring in playwright Bernard Pomerance's The Elephant Man, which officially opened on Broadway Sunday night.
Bradley Cooper: 'Elephant Man' Reviews Positive

Unlike John Hurt in director David Lynch's 1980 movie about the life of Joseph "John" Merrick, actors playing the real-life role on the stage do so without prosthetics, and tradition has so far held that those actors are typically handsome leading men: David Bowie, Billy Crudup and Mark Hamill have all contorted their bodies and voices for the role. Scott Ellis's production is actually something of a return for Cooper: His master's thesis in acting school was The Elephant Man, and he starred in the same production two years ago at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in the Berkshire mountains of Massachusetts.

So how is Cooper doing in the role? Very well, apparently. Entertainment Weekly says he "owns this production," calling him a "magnetic, surprisingly earthy stage actor."

The New York Times's review calls Cooper "the first star of his stature to take on the part [of Merrick] in our post-Warhol world of celebrity obsession," noting "he brings to this production the weight of years of being stared at as an adult," before concluding that "He is, as he should be, the elephant in the room."

Deadline's review flat out states that "Cooper is the best Merrick yet," and New York Magazine's review claims that Cooper's performance "not only demonstrates but proves" the stage chops the makeup-less role demands.

If you need any more convincing, Variety's review should do it. "It's a stunning performance," they write. "Deeply felt and very moving."

Sounds like Cooper is making for one elephant Broadway will never forget

Newsroom Writer Says She Was ‘Kicked Out of the Room’ Over Rape Subplot

As recaps and reviews have begun to indicate, Aaron Sorkin's latest endeavor to interweave current events, journalism, and drama on this week's Newsroom episode was not well-received. Shortly after critics began posting and tweeting their opinions about an episode that revolved around campus rape and the internet, staff writer Alena Smith took to Twitter to respond.

George Lucas Hasn't Watched the Star Wars Teaser Trailer

"There has been an awakening." Tens of millions of people have heard and re-heard and re-re-heard the opening words of the new Star Wars teaser trailer — except for one very important person. Star Wars creator George Lucas admitted to Page Six that he has not — actively not! — seen it. "I don't know anything about it. I haven't seen it yet," he said. "I like going to the movies and watching the whole thing there. I plan to see it when it's released." There has been an awakening, but Lucas won't feel it till December 2015.

Watch: ‘The Simpsons’ Takes on ‘Frozen’ in Holiday Couch Gag

It’s only fitting that the biggest animated show is paying homage to the biggest animated film.

The couch gag for this year’s “Simpsons” holiday special contains an “obligatory ‘Frozen’ reference” one minute and fifteen seconds into the opening credits.

The “Frozen” riff will precede this Sunday’s holiday episode, titled “I Won’t Be Home for Christmas.”

In the clip, the family meets Lisa on a frozen pond in front of their icy couch. When Bart hurls a snowball at his little sister, Lisa channels her inner Elsa, materializing an ice castle that grows instantaneously, trapping Bart high in the sky (ay caramba, indeed).

However, it’s Homer who steals the show as Olaf when he eats his own carrot nose

International Documentary Association revealed the 2014 IDA Documentary Awards winners Friday night in Los Angeles.
'Citizenfour' 'Citizenfour'

Hosted by Carol Leifer at the Paramount Theatre, the night's top honors predictably went to Best Feature winner "Citizenfour," directed by Laura Poitras. Last year, she received IDA's Courage Under Fire Award back when her Oscar-shortlisted Snowden doc was still shrouded in mystery. (Full list of winners below.)
Two other Oscar-shortlisted documentaries also got boosts at the IDA Awards: "Last Days in Vietnam" editor Don Kleszy picked up the Best Editing prize, and "Finding Vivian Maier" scribes John Maloof & Charlie Siskel took Best Writing.

Though no longer an Oscar contender, first-time filmmaker Darius Clark Monroe won the Emerging Documentary Filmmaker Award in honor of his autobiographical, Indie Spirit-nominated crime doc "Evolution of a Criminal." Director Rithy Panh, a 2014 Foreign Language Oscar nominee for "The Missing Picture," received the Scholarship and Preservation Award.
Veteran doc filmmaker Barbara Kopple presented Career Achievement honors to Robert Redford, who's getting ready for his 31st Sundance next month. Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, founders of World of Wonder Productions, shared IDA’s Pioneer Award, which was presented by Monica Lewinsky, the subject of their film "Monica in Black and White."

Christopher Nolan For Ready Player One? Get the Latest

Christopher Nolan For Ready Player One? Get the Latest image
We’ve been talking about the upcoming movie adaptation of Ernest Cline’s New York Times best-selling novel, Ready Player One, for quite some time. The screenplay, written by Zak Penn, promises to be one that fans of the book will love, as Penn has gotten Cline’s blessing. While the movie may have some obstacles to face as it tries to tackle the various rights issues that will arise from a story that relies so heavily on references to other television shows, movies, and games, it seems the film has taken another huge step forward in the process. We’ve got a complete screenplay, and now it seems that we might have a director.

Tracking Board reports that Warner Brothers has officially extended an offer to Christopher Nolan to direct Ready Player One.

It’s an interesting choice. Christopher Nolan is coming off the huge drama, Interstellar, and he’s been the brains behind other films like Inception and The Dark Knight Trilogy. So when I think of Nolan directing Ready Player One, I can’t help but compare the world described in Cline’s book to the world Nolan created in Inception. Judging based on that, he can certainly take on the task of manipulating reality.

One of the great things about Ready Player One, though, is its ability to straddle the boundaries between a serious story and a goofy, lighthearted tale with an impressive number of pop culture references. While a great deal of that tone will come from the script--and it seems that Zak Penn worked quite closely with Cline as he wrote the it, so there should be no problem there--the film's director will have a big hand in the mood and feel of the story. If Nolan adds his trademark brooding to the movie, he could lose part of what makes this book so special.

Ready Player One's protagonist, Wade Watts, aka Parzival, isn’t your typical Nolan-esque hero. He’s a kid. He’s a geek. He’s awkward. "Dark" and "brooding" aren’t really words I’d use to describe Wade. At all. Of course it hasn’t been confirmed that Nolan has accepted the job, but if he does, we need the funny, silly, and awkward parts of Wade kept in the film. Wade Watts is a kid goofing around in a virtual reality landscape, not a caped vigilante seeking justice after the murder of his parents.

My perfect Ready Player One director choice would be someone like Edgar Wright, giving the film adaptation a similar tone to Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. If not, maybe Nolan's expansive, imaginative directorial vision will serve him well in capturing a vast, intricate landscapes.

'America's Next Top Model': Cycle 21 winner dishes on favorite photos, toughest critique, and what it's like to 'be on top'

TOP-MODELnm

Though tooch toppled booch on America’s Next Top Model‘s 20th cycle—the first season when creator and host Tyra Banks invited guys into the competition—cycle 21 saw some serious contenders among the male models. In fact, only one beautiful lady stood before Banks as ANTM entered its two-episode finale.
Would a man finally be on top? (Spoiler warning: The following post contains details about ANTM‘s cycle 21 finale. Stop reading now if you haven’t seen the episode.)
The cycle’s penultimate episode saw frat boy Adam rally to take the top photo for a second week in a row. With Will called second, Keith found himself in the bottom two with sole remaining lady Lenox. After Lenox’s total score fell well below Keith’s, Tyra was shocked to discover the series would have its first-ever all-male finale.
With three very different models, who would smize his way to victory? Texan dance instructor Will, who struggled with his competitors’ biases against a gay guy potentially taking the title? Athletic, seductive Keith, who was competing in honor of his late father? Or Adam, the strong, screaming type who had run afoul of Tyra after she smelled alcohol on his breath at judges’ panel?

And America’s Next Top Model is…

KEITH!

America's Next Top Model Cycle 21 Finale Recap: And the Winner Is...

Finale Part One: The Last Girl Standing
Thank heavens Tyra Banks went to Harvard Business School. Otherwise, the groundbreaking new word “beautytainment” might not have entered the pop-culture lexicon during tonight’s America’s Next Top Model Cycle 21 finale.
Oh yes, you know Ty-Ty had to cross-promotionally synergize the bejeezus out of the two-hour installment. First, she brought back the season’s nine eliminated hopefuls, then had the four remaining finalists choose “teams” and shoot spots for various products in her new “Tyra” makeup line. (#IsThatARealThing?)
We didn’t immediately get to see the finished product, and instead jumped right ahead to a Guess? fashion shoot photographed by creative director Yu Tsai that seemed designed to bring out Lenox’s “but I don’t do sexy!” insecurities. Naturally, Tyra was hiding backstage with judges Miss J and Kelly Cutrone, picking “best shots” in real time, and when Lenox’s baffling black-and-white profile image — complete with disappearing chin — popped onto the screen, you knew she was Wonder-Bread-in-the-Broiler toast.
Adam, meanwhile, grabbed “Best Photo” for the second time in a row — thanks to a striking black-and-white image that would’ve stood out (in a good way) in any fashion mag — and suddenly, the Guy Formerly Known as “Alcohol Breath” looked like a potential threat to perceived front-runners Will and Keith.
A final one-two punch of Nylon magazine photo shoot and Lie Sang Bong runway show provided the final piece of the puzzle, and as much as I felt Will’s body of work over the entire season made him a shoo-in, his stiff movement and the “12 hours of Black Friday shopping” glaze in his eyes opened the door for an upset. (And anyway, if body of work was the deciding factor, where was Raelia in the Top 4?) As Tyra noted, Keith mugged just a little at the end of the catwalk — but never actually threatened the audience with a slop bucket of melted Kraft American Singles the way Adam did on his second pass. (Did he maybe have a martini in between his first and second turns on the catwalk?)
In a righteous turn of events, Adam placed third — an admirable rally for a frat bro/grad-school dropout who never had the benefit of getting edited to look like a champ.
And while Will’s more inviting energy and sweet smile made his Tyra cosmetics ad the clear choice over Keith’s stony-faced sexuality, it was painfully evident based on the carefully edited “overall body of work” review that the former football player would eke out the title over the tall gay glass of water.
Thus, the following prizes…
4th Place
Lenox
3rd Place
Adam
2nd Place
Will
Cycle 21 Champ

'Interstellar,' 'The Hobbit,' 'Guardians of the Galaxy' on Oscars shortlist for Best Visual Effects

Oscars Interstellar The Hobbit Guardians of the Galaxy entertainment 13579086 story
Ten films have made the cut with the academy's Visual Effects Branch Executive Committee. Now, all visual effects branch members will have the opportunity to view 10-minute excerpts from these shortlisted works on Jan. 10 to determine the five films that make the Oscar ballot.

Even though this category used to belong to summer blockbusters, 10 of the last 14 Visual Effects Oscars have gone to a Best Picture nominee, including the last six in a row: "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," "Avatar," "Inception," "Hugo," "Life of Pi" and "Gravity."
That is great news for "Interstellar," Christopher Nolan's technologically audacious thriller about space travel. It is the overwhelming frontrunner in this race.
The comic book crime fighters still in the running are: “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,”    “Guardians of the Galaxy” and  “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” However, no comic book movie has won Best Visual Effects since "Spider-Man 2" in 2004. Indeed, it's the only such film to win this race competitively. "Superman" won a Special Achievement Award for its effects in 1978.
Peter Jackson's “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” is a good bet to make the final five. After all, each of the three "Lord of the Rings" films won this category, and the first two parts of his "Hobbit" trilogy contended.
Battling robots have also done well in this category in recent years, with "Real Steel" and all three "Iron Man" movies reaping bids. The first two "Transformer" films did, which bodes well for   “Transformers: Age of Extinction.”
"Godzilla" overcame bad buzz to do well worldwide. The other three films in the bake-off are: “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” “Maleficent” and “Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb.”
What do you think is going to win Best Visual Effects? Vote below using our easy drag-and-drop menu.

Watch: Lupita Nyong'o Used to Braid Hair as Her 'Side Hustle' (Video)

Sometimes a girl just needs to make a little cash while in college. Or at least try.

Before Lupita Nyong'o scored an Oscar, landed her first Vogue cover or fronted a Lancome campaign, she was just an undergrad at Hampshire College and grad student at Yale School of Drama. And if you were lucky to be her BFF then, it's likely she would have braided your hair, according to a new short film from Vogue.
PHOTOS Lupita Nyong'o: The Making of a Style Star
The three-minute video shows the actress, Vogue's latest cover star, braiding her pals' hair while recalling the days when braiding hair was her "side hustle." Even though she made posters to advertise her skills, she notes that she never made any money because she "never had the heart to charge anyone." Instead, it became one of her favorite hobbies, especially in class.
In case you're wondering what qualifies you to become Nyong'o's next BFF (and to eventually get your hair braided), she shared: "I think I'm just attracted to people who are honest and expressive. I like playful people as well, people who are not afraid of their inner child." Well, anytime you want to braid our hair, we're here for you, Lupita.

Mark Wahlberg Wants Pardon for Crimes

"I want people to remember my past so that I can serve as an example of how lives can be turned around and how people can be redeemed"

Marky Mark doesn't want a black mark any longer.
Actor Mark Wahlberg is asking Massachusetts for a pardon for assaults he committed in 1988 when he was a troubled teenager in Boston, saying he has dedicated himself to becoming a better person in his adult years so he can be a role model to his children and others.
The former rapper known as Marky Mark and a star of movies including The Departed and The Gambler, filed a pardon application with state officials Nov. 26. New England Cable News first reported on the application Thursday.

Box office preview: No new wide releases means more time on top for 'Mockingjay'

District-8_612x380.jpg vn

There aren’t any huge wide releases this weekend, which means there probably aren’t going to be any huge changes in the box office lineup—so Hunger Games, you can get comfortable.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 1 started off strong with a $121.9 million opening weekend and dropped a predictable 53 percent last weekend, down to $57 million. But even with that significant drop, it didn’t suffer in terms of its top five placement: Penguins of Madagascar and Horrible Bosses 2 both opened during the Hunger Games‘ second weekend, but didn’t even come close to Mockingjay’s earnings.
Although there aren’t any films opening in 1,000 or more theaters this weekend, there are a few new offerings: Horror movie Pyramid opens in about 550 theaters, Reese Witherspoon’s Wild opens in 21 locations, and Leighton Meester and Gillian Jacobs’ comedy Life Partners debuts in just three cinemas. None of those are expected to crack the top five—but these are:
1. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1 – $20 million
Mockingjay likely benefited from Thanksgiving crowds last week, but it won’t have that same advantage on this more ordinary weekend—one that also follows Black Friday, meaning people might not be as willing to shell out cash for movies after spending it on sales. It should drop about 65 percent, leaving it earning around $20 million its third weekend.
2. Penguins of Madagascar – $10.2 million
Penguins did not impress. While the previous three films in the Madagascar series all made at least $45 million their opening weekend, Penguins only made $25.4 million—enough to earn it the number two spot at the box office, but not a great opening considering its $132 million budget. Because of this, it’s a bit difficult to predict how well the film will do in its second weekend—will it follow in its predecessors’ steps and drop by just about 45 percent, or do worse? Judging by its weak opening, we’ll guess the latter.
3. Big Hero 6 – $9.4 million
A movie that didn’t disappoint Thanksgiving weekend? Big Hero 6, which only dropped 6 percent between Thanksgiving weekend and the weekend prior. Apparently, families were more interested in taking their kids to see the talked-about Disney film than Penguins, and that interest will help Big Hero stay strong at the box office. While it won’t experience as small of a decline this weekend—if only each weekend came after a holiday!—it should stay at around Penguins‘ level.
4. Interstellar – $7.9 million
Interstellar was the one (not-new) film in the top five that actually improved from one weekend to the next: The Christoper Nolan movie made $15.3 million the weekend of Nov. 21 and went up 2 percent, to $15.7 million, the weekend of Nov. 28. Moviegoers evidently took the extra time off to spend a few hours in the theater watching space (and Matthew McConaughey) go by, but they don’t have as much time this weekend—so Interstellar will probably experience a typical 50 percent decline.
5. Horrible Bosses 2 – $5.4 million
This sequel didn’t fare as well as the original, which made $28.3 million its opening weekend, but it still remains one of the only comedy choices at cinemas currently. People will go see it for that reason. But word-of-mouth isn’t too strong on this one, a factor that could hurt its potential earnings and lead to a more drastic decrease in ticket sales.

Sean Bean lives: TNT renews 'Legends' for season 2

legends.jpg

TNT’s Legends has been renewed—and Sean Bean’s character is still alive.
The cable network has given the spy show a second season, ordering another 10 episodes expected to launch next year. Moreover, this means the executable former Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, and Missing star finally gets to stick around for awhile in a U.S. show.
Perhaps the bigger surprise is the show itself is still alive — TNT has been on a cancelation streak lately, having recently axed Perception, Dallas and Franklin & Bash.
Legends is based on a book by Robert Littell and stars Bean undercover FBI agent who can transform himself into a completely different person for each job. The first season of Legends averaged 3.2 million viewers including DVR.

Ryan Reynolds Closing Deal to Get Deadly & Mouthy as 'Deadpool'

Deadpool
Back in September, some good news came from 20th Century Fox as the studio had finally decided to give Deadpool the feature film spin-off fans have been clamoring for ever since the character was disgraced with his appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The casting was perfect with Ryan Reynolds in the role of Wade Wilson, but then the film went and sewed his mouth shut, literally. But now the Merc with a Mouth will be back the proper way with the film slated to hit theaters on February 12th, 2016, and Deadline has confirmed that Reynolds is closing his deal at Fox to reprise his role and give Deadpool his due diligence.

Game of Thrones,’ ‘True Detective,’ ‘Transparent’ Lead WGA TV Nominations

Iceland Production Incentives Game of Thrones
HBO’s “Silicon Valley” and Amazon’s “Transparent” were among the newbie standouts in this year’s TV nominees for the Writers Guild Awards.
Both shows earned noms for comedy series as well as for new series. “Transparent” made it a trifecta with a nom for episodic comedy, for “The Wilderness” seg penned by Ethan Kuperberg.
HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” “Boardwalk Empire” and “True Detective,” CBS’s “The Good Wife,” AMC’s “Mad Men,” FX’s “Louie” and ABC’s “Modern Family” also grabbed two noms each.
“Modern Family” was not selected in the comedy series category but took two nods for the “The Cold” and “Three Dinners” segments. Similarly, “Boardwalk Empire” was not named for drama series but received nomimations for the “Devil You Know” and “Friendless Child” episodes.
“The Simpsons” had its usual strong showing with four bids for animation writing with “Bob’s Burgers” taking two.
The winners, based on voting by the 12,000 WGA members, will be named in simultaneous ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York on Feb. 14.
The WGA won’t see repeat winners in the key categories. The final season of AMC’s “Breaking Bad” won the WGA’s drama series trophy in February for the third straight year while NBC’s last season of “30 Rock” took the comedy series and Netflix’s “House of Cards”  copped the new series trophy.
“House of Cards” received a single nomination for top drama series.
Notable omissions included FX’s “Fargo” and Showtime’s “Homeland.”
The WGA TV awards eligibility period is between Oct. 1, 2013, and Sept.  30 except for longform, which covers for the 12 months prior to Nov. 30.

Caesars Entertainment announced in a news conference Wednesday that Reba and Brooks & Dunn will be the newest headliners to take up residency in Las Vegas, with a show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace beginning in June.

The Colosseum was previously home to Céline Dion, who announced in August that she needed to postpone all shows indefinitely in order to focus on helping her husband, René Angélil, who is undergoing treatment for throat cancer.

Brooks & Dunn's reunion comes five years after they called it quits, following 20 years together, to pursue solo careers. The duo previously teamed up with McEntire on their 2008 hit "Cowgirls Don't Cry."

Ronnie Dunn followers on social media might have guessed something big was in the works: The singer recently posted the message "Don't touch that dial. More to come. 1. Reba signs with Nash Icon. 2. I am excited to be a part of Nash Icon ... working to do this in stages ....what's next ? RD."

Tickets for Reba, Brooks & Dunn: Together in Vegas go on sale Dec. 4.

North Korea Denies It Was Behind Sony Pictures Cyber-Attack

Sony Pictures

After more than a week of speculation that hackers with ties to North Korea were behind the massive cyber-attack on Sony Pictures Entertainment, an official from the communist regime is claiming the country was not involved.
“Linking the DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the official name of North Korea) to the Sony hacking is another fabrication targeting the country,” an unidentified North Korean diplomat told Voice of America. “My country publicly declared that it would follow international norms banning hacking and piracy.”
Earlier this week, a spokesman for North Korea’s United Nations delegation provided a cryptic statement to the BBC. When asked about the SPE incident, the official told the news service to “kindly just wait and see.”
The Nov. 24 attack on Sony Pictures’ computer systems disabled email and other internal systems for about a week. The hack — by a group that’s dubbed itself “Guardians of Peace” — has resulted in internal studio data being posted online, including salaries of top execs and private info of SPE employees.
Hackers also have disseminated data allegedly revealing the finances behind Sony’s upcoming film “The Interview,” a political satire starring James Franco and Seth Rogen set to bow Dec. 25. In the movie, the American journalists are tapped by the CIA to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
In addition, five Sony films including Brad Pitt-starrer “Fury” and unreleased movies “Annie,” “Mr. Turner,” “Still Alice” and “To Write Love on Her Arms” were stolen in the attack and uploaded to piracy networks.
Speculation about North Korea’s involvement in the SPE cyber-attack has been centered on the country’s supposed retaliation for SPE’s release of “The Interview.” Sony is sticking with its plans to premiere the film on Christmas Day.
Previously, North Korea has expressed its displeasure with “The Interview.” Officials have denounced the movie as propaganda and have said the country would take “merciless counter-measures” against those associated with it. North Korean officials even sent a letter to the President Obama requesting that the White House block the movie’s release, according to VOA.
The FBI is leading an investigation into the SPE cyber-attack, and at least three other Hollywood studios are reassessing their information-technology security measures in the wake of the incident. In a memo to employees Tuesday, Sony Pictures Entertainment bosses Michael Lynton and Amy Pascal said they were “deeply saddened” about the breach, which they called “malicious criminal acts.”

spectre
And, now we know. Director Sam Mendes has revealed the title for Bond 24 which will be Spectre. Mendes made the announcement this morning from the 007 stage at Pinewood Studios where the film will shoot along with London, Rome, Mexico City, Tangier, Erfoud and the Austrian Alps. The newest cast members are confirmed as Christoph Waltz, Andrew Scott, Dave Bautista, Monica Bellucci and Léa Seydoux. Daniel Craig will of course return as Bond along with Rory Kinnear as Tanner, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny and Ralph Fiennes as the new M. Oscar winner Waltz will play Oberhauser, while Blue Is The Warmest Color‘s Seydoux is Madeleine Swann and Bellucci is Lucia Sciarra. (Bellucci is a nice get for the Bond folks who I hear have been eyeing her for a role for a long time.) Guardians Of The Galaxy‘s Bautista is playing Mr Hinx and Sherlock‘s Scott is Denbigh. Interstellar cinematograther Hoyte Van Hoytema will shoot the film with Mendes. And that same film’s Lee Smith is joining as editor. Also rolling in is the Aston Martin DB10 which was designed specially for Spectre. The logline for the new film is: “A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.”

The 100 Season 2 Episode 6 Review: “Fog of War”

The 100 2.06
Wow. Even after we missed a week, this week’s episode of The 100 has lost no momentum whatsoever.  Every episode they’ve done is more and more engrossing, and so much fun to watch. The best part about it is that I have no idea what’s coming next.
This week, Clarke takes a band of rescuers down to Mt. Weather, only for them to split up again. Jasper and Monty encounter more trouble on the inside, We all make some interesting discoveries about the civilization inside Mt. Weather, and Jaha and Kane are faced with an impossible choice.
I was really impressed with the “large group of rescuers” story for several reasons. The first is that it was a HUGE leap forward for Abbie’s character. Paige Turco has done a pretty good job in this series so far, but I’ve not been particularly interested in her character. However, after her time in the tent with Raven, she realized just how well the “kids” had been doing for themselves on the ground. I’ve never been more impressed OR interested in her story. Reason number two is the exploration of the new Finn/Clarke dynamic. Clarke thinks Finn has become someone else. A monster, perhaps (Maybe she and Octavia should talk about that)? I’m so glad that The 100 hasn’t fallen into the “CW Teen Drama” sub-genre, and seems to care more about creating real relationships and conflicts between the characters. The final reason, of course, is that scene with Bellamy and Octavia discovering Lincoln’s “condition”. I wasn’t always a fan of the Bellamy/Octavia sibling dynamic, but now that Octavia has become a warrior, it’s become ten times as interesting.
I thought the whole plot involving the two chancellors was excellent. Henry Ian Cusick and Isaiah Washington have given some of my favorite performances in the series thus far, and putting them together in a different scenario was a GREAT idea. However, the commander of the grounders stole the show. I didn’t really see that coming at all. She contrasted between an innocent girl doing a terrible task and an undercover grounder commander SO well. I was really impressed. IMDB did not yet list the name of that actress (by the time I had authored this post), but I’m betting she’s one to watch, folks. Just an excellent performance all around.
So, how about the fact that the people of Mt. Weather behind every single bad thing that happens out on the ground? Not only have we discovered that they are solely responsible for the creation of Reapers, but they are also the reason that the drop ship crashed, AND they manufactured the acid fog. This isn’t the first time the show has reminded me of The Walking Dead, but it does seem to be hinting at the “humans are more dangerous than supernatural environment” kind of story. Aside from dropping literally ALL of that information in one episode, we also found out that only some of the Mt. Weatherites are evil. I’ve been a fan of Raymond Barry’s performance as President Wallace since his first appearance, but he really stepped up his game in this episode. I was actually surprised that he didn’t turn out to be a bad guy. I mean, he might still, but I have to give him (the charater) props for standing up for Jasper and Monty. Somebody’s gotta.
I’m really impressed with where the show is going. I want to know more about every single one of these stories. I’m constantly surprised by the twists and the turns, and there’s not a single uninteresting character. Moral of the story is, if you’re not watching The 100, you should be.
What do you guys think? Did you guys enjoy this episode as much as I did? Let us know!
